Pela Maria is een wat verouderd en eenvoudig hotel. Het personeel is zeer vriendelijk en spreekt redelijk Engels. De kamers zijn goed, voldoende ruimte. De badkamer en het balkon zijn aan de kleine kant, maar voorzien van de nodige voorzieningen. Het buffet is eenvoudig en niet altijd warm. Er is wel voldoende keus en variatie in het eten. Het hotel bevindt zich in de hoofdstraat van Chersonissos, op loop afstand van het strand en de boulevard; een prachtige ligging! 's Avonds kun je de muziek van de restaurantjes en café's goed horen; oordopjes zijn een aanrader om te slapen! Rondom het hotel worden veel excursies aangeboden en ook kun je direct naast het hotel een auto of quad huren. Buiten het hoogseizoen worden er vanuit het hotel nauwelijks excursies aangeboden; de flyers die er nog hingen gaven wel aan dat dit in de zomerperiode wel gedaan wordt door diverse reisorganisaties.
